Jewish Family Service of Colorado receives $25,000 MassMutual Foundation Grant
Denver, Colorado – Jewish Family Service of Colorado (JFS), one of the leading human service organizations in Denver, has received a $25,000 grant from the MassMutual Foundation as part of a national Community Service Award (CSA) program. JFS is one of twenty-two organizations nationally to receive an award. The MassMutual Foundation made the grant as a tribute to the volunteer efforts of Scott Stillman, President of MassMutual Colorado in the Denver Technological Center (DTC).
“We are stronger when we come together as a community, and our Community Service Awards program recognizes a group of MassMutual financial professionals who embody this spirit, working with members of their respective neighborhoods, towns and cities, helping nonprofits with which they are involved grow and thrive,” said Dennis Duquette, Head of MassMutual Community Responsibility and President of the MassMutual Foundation. “We are proud of the time and energy Scott dedicates to better his community and delighted to support the great work MassMutual financial professionals do with organizations across the country.”
Founded in 1872, JFS is a nonsectarian, nonprofit human service agency serving metro Denver and Boulder. JFS serves people of all faiths, ages, incomes, races, and abilities. JFS helps seniors live independently at home, provides quality mental health counseling, offers training and job placement to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and other people with barriers to employment, and provides food and financial aid to people in crisis.
“The funds donated will provide a safety net for families and others at greatest risk for hunger and homelessness, helping get them through immediate crisis and back on the path to self-sufficiency.” - Julie Alcorn – Chief Development Officer JFS
Scott Stillman has been with MassMutual Colorado for 13 years. He has been committed to Jewish Family Service of Colorado for over 30 years dedicating time and money to help the organization grow and flourish.
“I am pleased that my dedication to JFS has been recognized by the MassMutual Foundation,” said Scott. “This grant will provide much needed funding allowing JFS to continue providing vital social services and financial aid to people experiencing crisis.”
