Scott A. Stillman

Biography

Scott Stillman began his career in the financial services industry in 1983. Since spending the first half of his career as a successful producer, Scott has spent over fifteen years coaching and training advisors to grow successful practices. He currently serves as the president of MassMutual Colorado and is responsible for driving the firm continually to the next level of success.

Tyler T. Rainey III

Vice President/Director of Brokerage Sales

Biography

Tyler has been in the insurance and financial services industry since 1995, and joined the MassMutual agency in 2003 as the Brokerage Director. Tyler supports the sale of Life, Disability, Annuity and Long Term Care Planning Solutions from the MassMutual portfolio of products. This extensive experience has allowed Tyler to consistently develop and manage our extensive network of brokerage producers which helps to allow them to deliver good financial and insurance decisions for the long term. 

As a 1995 graduate of Colby College in Maine, Tyler spent the first part of his career in New England with Sun Life of Canada at their home office in Wellesley Massachusetts. After leaving Sun Life, Tyler joined Guardian Life as an annuity and mutual fund wholesaler eventually moving to Colorado from Massachusetts in 2002. Tyler currently lives in the Littleton area with his wife, 2 children and his dog Remington.

Biography

Rico Nelson began his career in Financial Services in 2003 as an advisor and moved into a front-line leadership role in 2007.  During his 14 years in the financial services industry, Rico has had success as an advisor, served 7 years as manager and 4 years as a General Agent.  In his role as Vice President he helps guide and support all efforts of our agency, including helping to mold advisors and new Managing Directors on their career paths in the industry. 

He attended UTEP on a basketball scholarship where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing.  Prior to joining this industry, he had the privilege to work as a member of the Promise Keepers Ministry.   

Rico is married and has 3 beautiful children (Rico Jr., Bella & Ava) with his wife Julie Ann.

Working side-by-side with MassMutual Colorado associates, Howard lends his expertise to the analysis of our clients’ existing investment portfolios. In addition, after understanding client objectives, Howard works collaboratively with our associates and other specialists to help ensure proper planning of future investment strategies.

Howard was born and raised in New York, but has lived in Denver for over 20 years. He and his son enjoy hiking and skiing in the beautiful Colorado mountains as often as time allows.

Rachel Comfort

Biography

Rachel’s ten-year history as a client facing advisor with her own successful practice lends itself well to her role as department lead. She brings a deep love of financial planning and a belief that a well-developed plan brings direction and security that can allow clients to make life decisions outside of financial pressure and uncertainty.  Rachel holds her CFP®, CLU, and ChFC designations.  She, her husband, and their two children love to read together, build model rockets, garden and hike.

MassMutual Colorado Financial Planning Department consists of two full-time planning professionals who consult with and support the client facing advisors affiliated with our firm. The planning team’s focus is to provide subject matter expertise in collaboration with our advisors to prepare and deliver customized financial plans to our clients.

The Financial Planning Department, the advisor, the investment specialist, staff estate planning attorneys, and other technical experts develop the plan. They follow the internationally accepted process for engaging with clients, gathering and evaluating information and finally, recommending, implementing (if the client so chooses) and monitoring a clear path for their financial future. 

While their professional and technical knowledge is the foundation of this talented team, it is their rich professional experience and first-class management and communication skills that set them apart in the Denver financial services marketplace.
